Hi-Voltage Horse Power is In Development
The Rundown
Place bets, sway race outcomes, and meddle with your opponents to see who comes out in front!

It has all the thrill and fun of Camel Up but with the accessibility of Exploding Kittens. The cards are the board, so it has a small form factor and sets up in 60 seconds.

Casual gamers, families, & horse joke aficionados. "Broncos country, let's ride."
the back of the box
Horse races in the future are built DIFFERENT. Horses are super-charged on various forms of energy and you’re more than just a gambler. You’re playing with cards up your sleeve that let you control the race, but so do your opponents! Players take turns rolling the dice and playing cards. The horses will move ahead on the track and players will rack up bets for - and against - different horses. Once all horses move past a card on the track, that card will be played and the track will shorten ensuring nail-biting finishes every time. As soon as a horse crosses the finish line, players will tally up their bets that hit and subtract their losses. Whoever has the most points after 3 races is the champion!
92 Playing Cards
12 Opening Bet Cards
4 Race-horse Tokens
3 Death-Horse Tokens
1 Dice
4 Cheat Sheet Cards
1 Scoresheet
1 Rulebook

Before the Race
Players place starting bets based off of the cards in their hand - that's called insider trading. Starting bets start with 3pt bets and go down to 1pt bets, indicated by the horse bet icons in the upper right hand corner. You can bet on the same horse another player has already bet on but the returns are diminished. Starting bets are taken in a snake order draft. Should you diversify or go long?

On Your Turn
1. Roll the dice to move a horse
Once all horses have moved past a card it gets flipped and played.

2. Play a card from your hand
Most cards have a move action and an alternate action which gives you tons of options. See the "MOVE" option on the left hand side and the "OR" hexagon alternate action in the upper right hand corner. With just the first two cards below there are 4 moves. You could...
MOVE the Pink horse backwards
Place a BET on the Pink horse
MOVE the Green horse forwards
SHORT (bet against) the Green horse

Ending the race
Once a horse crosses the finish line the race is over. The player that moves a horse past the finish line, whether by rolling the dice or playing a card, gets to collect the horse token as a point for this race. 3 races make a complete game.

Theme & Artwork
Welcome to the Hi-Voltage Horse Horse Power thematic universe. The world where horses are super-charged on various forms of energy. Each horse has it's own unique form of power: electric, hydrologic, combustion, & nuclear. Oh, and death-horses. Look out for death-horses.

This game came from playing a rudimentary horse racing game with my nephew on a family vacation. We started introducing extra rules, player turns and cards with special abilities. I started calling it hi-voltage horse racing - an ode to Michael Saylor referring to his company's stock as hi-voltage bitcoin. After the trip I kept wondering what it would look like to build our version into a full-fledged game. It's time to get volatile.

I'm a 90's kid and grew up playing Ninja Turtles games on the NES and GameBoy. I guess I never really grew out of that phase. About 10 years ago I started dabbling in graphic design which I parlayed into a small e-commerce store. Over the years I've developed a lot of the skills necessary to make a game. I never had plans or dreams to make a game but things change. This project has been so much fun and has felt like a gift. My dream is to maximize this game's potential and that it would bring you joy and connection with friends and family.- Evan
